Account Management

To use this functionality, you must have a teacher account. If your account is not a teacher account, see here for how to obtain a teacher account.

You can also create a group with accounts for your students by going to Account Management on the dashboard. Before doing so, please read this guide to the end.

We recommend that students use personal accounts in class or accounts created for them by their parents (if students are under 15 years old). If you still decide to create anonymous accounts for students, be sure to read our Privacy Policy before creating the accounts, because by creating these accounts you take responsibility for processing personal data (in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Law on Personal Data Protection).

Anonymous accounts have usernames like OS_00001 and the Petlja portal does not link them in any way to the real identity of the person. It is up to you to know which student is using which account if you want to track their progress.

Anonymous accounts can be used to access all parts of the Petlja portal except the Algora forum and the part of the site intended for competition registration, Takprog.

Algora and Takprog are not localized to English.

Petlja supports teachers in Serbia so forum (Algora) and competition related parts of platform are not localized to other Languages.

Students who want to ask questions on Algora and register as competitors can create their own personal account or have their parents create an account for them if they are under 15 years old. You will get the following error if you try to access Algora or Takprog with an anonymous account:

Creating Anonymous Accounts

Accounts are created at the following link by selecting the number of accounts in the Number of accounts field, selecting New group in the Group field, and entering the group name (for example, the class name). In the Prefix field, you can enter a designation that will be added to all usernames created in this group, for example III_2, so you know that every user with that prefix is a member of that group. Also, it is necessary to read our Privacy Policy and check the box by which you accept responsibility for processing personal data in accordance with the privacy policy and the Law on Personal Data Protection in order to be able to create accounts. By clicking the Create button, you will create a new group with the selected number of accounts.

If you want to add new accounts to an existing group, in the Number of accounts field select the number of accounts you want to add, in the Group field select which group you want to expand, and click Create. At the bottom of the page in the My accounts section, you can see the username and password that need to be shared with the students. The student logs in to Petlja with this account just like with a standard account, by entering the username and password.

Managing Anonymous Accounts

For each account you can:

  • Generate a new password by clicking the Password button with arrows

../_images/upravljanje1.png
  • Change the group it belongs to by selecting the desired group in the Group field

../_images/upravljanje2.png
  • Delete the account by clicking the trash can button at the end of the row

../_images/upravljanje3.png
  • Block the account by clicking the button next to the trash can. If the button is yellow, it means the account is unblocked and can access the portal. If the button is green, it means the account is blocked and cannot access the portal.

You can also click the Block all accounts button to prevent students from accessing the accounts you created for them until you unblock them. Next to it, you have the “Unblock all accounts” button, which allows you to restore access to the portal for these accounts. If students try to log in with a blocked account, they will receive a message that The user account is not active. In addition, it is possible to change all passwords so that students cannot access their accounts. Neither changing the password nor blocking/unblocking the account changes other account data (such as how many problems have been solved, etc.).
